Lambeth Council will showcase its town hall regeneration project at a property exhibition next month.
The London Real Estate Forum (LREF) is an annual exhibition showcasing more than 100 major development and investment opportunities across London; the next one will take place between 13 and 14 June 2018 at Berkeley Square in Mayfair.
Lambeth is one of numerous local authorities exhibiting at the event, sponsored by regeneration magazine Lambeth, developer Downing, real estate investor Bourne Capital and delivered by place-marketing specialist 3Fox International.
The authority will discuss its regeneration of Brixton, and in particular its town hall scheme with contractor Morgan Sindell and Muse Developments at a speaking slot on 13 June, outlining how it reduced its core office buildings from 14 to two, saving it £4.5 million a year.
Confirmed speakers at a panel discussion include Mike Auger, regional director (south) at Muse Developments; Sue Foster, strategic director for neighbourhoods and growth at Lambeth Council; Emma Curtis, pre-construction director of London and Home Counties at Morgan Sindall Construction and Kiran Pawar, development director at HB Reavis.
Auger said: “I’m delighted to be joining Lambeth Council at LREF to share the success and experiences of the New Town Hall project in Brixton. Our partnership has delivered an ambitious scheme delivering a new civic campus for the council including reinvigorating the listed Town Hall, alongside new mixed tenure housing, high quality open space and other amenities.”
Other speakers at LREF include representatives from Greater London Authority (GLA) including James Murray, deputy mayor for housing and residential development and Jules Pipe, deputy mayor for planning, regeneration and skills.
